The Fifth NTD Television Chinese International Vocal Competition Award Winners

Chinese vocalists competed fiercely for big prizes in NTD's Fifth Annual International Chinese Vocal Competition at Carnegie Hall on October 30. Taking the Gold prize of ten thousand dollars was I-Chun Cheng, a Taiwanese soprano living in New York. Wen-Yu Lin from Argentina walked away with Silver. Four contestants won the Bronze prize. In addition, four singers were selected to receive scholarships to study at master classes in Italy. These scholarships were offered by the Florence Opera Academy and Sicilia Opera Academy to encourage the preservation and promotion of classical vocal arts.

After the conclusion of the competition, many of this year and past years' contestants performed in a recital in Carnegie Hall. One of the world's most renowned Belcanto soprano Lucia Aliberti performed alongside the performers and wowed the audience with her seemingly effortless lyricism and range. In the award ceremony, La Scala's casting director Ilias Tzempetonidis was among the award presenters. Madame Aliberti also conducted master classes for the contestants on October 29.

Florence Opera Academy (FLOA) offrira une bourse
à trois candidats du Concours de chant de NTD

Le 16 août 2011, Florence Opera Academy (FLOA) a signé un accord avec NTD Television, s’engageant à offrir à trois candidats du Concours International de Chant Chinois 2011 de NTD, une bourse pour leurs « talents distingués en interprétant l’Opéra italien. »

La directrice artistique de FLOA, Mme Silvia Bossa, viendra à New York pour sélectionner les vainqueurs. Mme Bossa a contacté NTD en apprenant le prochain Concours International de Chant Chinois à Carnegie Hall. Mme Bossa a dit : « En voyant que la mission du concours est de promouvoir les arts vocaux de pure authenticité, de pure bonté et de pure beauté ; je sais immédiatement que c’est une adéquation parfaite parce que c’est exactement ma philosophie de vie. »

Un concert aura lieu pour les récipiendaires à Florence après les Masterclasses. Mme Bossa pense que l’évènement à Carnegie Hall a établi ses standards et apportera des récompenses aux interprètes. « Carnegie Hall est une endroit plein de figures historiques et de grandes émotions. Si un chanteur peut s’y produire de tout son cœur, quels que soient les résultats, l’expérience Carnegie l’aidera dans sa carrière de chanteur.

Mme Bossa viendra à New York pour assister aux demi-finales et aux finales ainsi qu’au Future Stars Recital prévu au Stern Auditorium à Carnegie Hall le 30 octobre, 2011.    [Video]
