The standards we follow, how to report a problem, and how we keep improving.

Accessibility commitment

We are committed to ensuring that people of all abilities, using any device or assistive technology, can access and use the website and registration services of the NTD International Chinese Vocal Competition.

The site is designed and built targeting WCAG 2.2 AA, covering keyboard operation, clear focus indication, adequate contrast, resizable text, image alternative text, video captions, form labels and identifiable errors.

Implemented

Measures already in place

  1. Skip to main content  The first focusable element on every page is a skip link, implemented by displacement rather than hiding so that it stays in the keyboard focus order.
  2. Keyboard-operable menus  The main menu and its dropdowns are fully keyboard operable. Esc closes them and returns focus to the triggering button; state is exposed via aria-expanded.
  3. Accordions  Each FAQ question is a button whose expanded state is exposed via aria-expanded, and each answer has a shareable URL anchor.
  4. Reduced motion  When prefers-reduced-motion is set, parallax and transitions are disabled and the hero video is paused.
  5. Text contrast  Text and background contrast has been measured across the site to meet WCAG AA (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text). Gold is not used for small text where it would fall short.
  6. Images and layout stability  All images have alternative text and declare their intrinsic width and height to prevent layout shift.
